Carefully positioned amongst an enduring streetscape, Maison Smith celebrates belonging through considered design. Featuring a restrained architectural language that celebrates a sense of home, each residence is generous in layout, finely textured, and guided by shifting natural light. 

As light shifts across the building throughout the day, shadows catch the curve of each column. Here, the facade responds to the sun from morning through to dusk. Season to season.

Soft curves in the façade columns echo the arches and parapets of Smith Street’s heritage buildings, feeling familiar enough to belong, yet considered enough to stand on their own. Inside, the same principles hold.

Spaces generous in proportion, deliberate in detail, and resolved around life’s daily rhythms. This is architecture and design that begins at the street, and carries its intentions through to the quietest corners of home.

Considered Context

Maison Smith has been designed with the surrounding architecture and history in mind. Freadman White began their design process by considering all that surrounds the building. 

This unhurried, layered, deeply considered context has been infused into the architectural vision for Maison Smith from the very beginning.
